Baby Birds Everywhere I See; In the Rafters , In the Roses

My mom told me the other day that there was a nest just outside my sisters window, When I visited for my sisters birthday I was so excited to see this, I took this  photo still inside the house through the front window. its hard to tell but there are 5 of them. I really thought that the nest was beautiful there are still dried flowers attached to the stalks that are weaved in.

A few weeks earlier I had went to my sisters rose bush to clean it up a bit after all the blooms died and I found this little guy just staring at me,he wasn’t scared  so I took this quick photo

He seems to live at the very bottom of the bus,h in the center of where the canes branch out,  He will climb to the top of the rose bush look around then snuggle back into his thorny lair.

Metallic Paisley apron with neon green lace

DSCN0208I originally bought this fabric for a quilt, but as soon as I had found the bright green lace,  I knew this apron was meant to be. it doesn’t show real well in photos but there is silver metallic  highlighting the pattern on every piece of fabric used.

DSCN0211Here you can see a little more detail. and like all my apron I have added a comfy elastic waistband , and is fully lined. (I’m amazed at how many $50.00 aprons I have found on line to be just one layer of fabric thick, with that said, I hope to sell this at an upcoming apron party for $29.00)

Dahlia Show

I Happend to come across a Dahlia show this weekend, I have 3 small plants myself that have yet to bloom successfully so it was nice to see them all in full bloom. I always liked Dahlias there are so many varieties, forms and colors ( no true black dahlias though) although this one was close

so many beautiful flowers i had trouble deciding which to post so… this is going to be a long posting of mostly flowers

Seeing all of these really encourages me to grow some more varieties. I was suprised i didn’t see any dinner-plate dahlias though
