Red Rose/White Dot Apron

red rose apron with white

Ah roses is there anything more simple while still being so elegant? I fell in love with this rose fabric and it took a long time for me to cut into it, I’m very pleased with how it came out. Like all my apron this is fully lined. The attached half apron is white dot on white very subtle but I think it adds a lot.

I added apple green topstitching to the rose fabric, and finished off with red and white lace. I have started to refer to this pattern that I have created as a “tartlett apron”

Baby Blue with White Dot Apron

003

I am such a sucker for dots,I find them so sweet and simple. I made this baby blue with white dot apron, it, like all my aprons are fully lined. Its hard to tell but the fully lined attached half apron is white paisley.  I added 2 layers of lace baby blue and white.

Cream Rose on Grey Apron

070

I am a huge fan of they color grey, I think its entirely under appreciated, I found this cream rose  on grey fabric, I really loved it but was afraid it was too old-timey, I paired it with this grey geometric pattern and i think it complemented it a lot.

I added this white lace, I think the lace pattern ties the pattern from the two fabrics together.

Black Blossoms with Blue Cherry Blossoms Apron

First Commision, Apple and Rooster Apron

I finally finished my first commissioned apron. This is a fully reversible, 6 aprons in 1, and  triple thick ,this is a heavy duty apron.

025here it is reversed

She really wanted an apple and rooster apron, after searching 6 fabric stores for the right apple I came across this gem.

I never really wanted an apple fabric until now.  I am actually thinking of making my self a dress with it. The pockets are  copper metallic dot, and the black has tiny black apple blossoms that don’t really show on here. This was a lot of firsts for me, first making ruffles for a project, first collars ( free formed them I don’t even own a pattern with a collar) and first triple lined, all my others are dual layers. Took my 5 days in total.

Green dot and Pink Rose Apron

dgdggdI completed my first full apron, I am very happy with it. I originally bought this pink rose on green to make curtains in my kitchen but decided it would look great with this dotted fabric. every part of this, including the floral half apron part,  is fully lined.011

I used a cream brocade for the waistband that is elastic so you can comfortably move around in it. The top straps are partially elastic, but then ties in back, it really helps for busty girls.

010hdfhI did a top stitch in lime green and added two laces forest green and cream

Daisy on Aqua Apron

DSCN0205My Mothers favorite flowers are daisies, so I made this apron for her thinking she would pick it for her birthday out of all the ones I had made. To my surprise she picked a Cheshire cat inspired apron that I had made on a whim, ( no photos of, at least yet). She really liked this one but the bright fuchsia and purple of the other made her happy. This was my first time working with cream  Cluny Lace, I was nervous but learned how to deal with it. I really recommend this type of lace now it feels nice and soft on a finished project.

DSCN0207 I loved the little pink flowers on the pocket, and I think goes well with the yellow straps that feature tiny little pink flower buds.

Blue and Yellow Roses Aprons

DSCN0198So these are my yellow and blue rose aprons I used these same fabrics to make my nifty fifties apron from an earlier entry;  but have taken it a lot farther . This first one with the blue background, I  tried a dual-compartment pocket with an electric  and baby blue striped fabric. The straps are baby yellow rose buds. I used yellow and electric blue lace; I love this lace combination. Like all my aprons They are both fully lined and with a comfy enclosed  elastic waistband .

DSCN0201Now my white background, yellow and blue rose apron has just been sold, I ship it out tomorrow,  along with my pirate apron, my first sales very excited.

DSCN0187I added baby blue lace along with the yellow lace to this one.DSCN0189

I really love how these look, similar but with there own unique qualities.

My Lemon Meringue Apron

DSCN0212I  am really into yellow lately, its never really been my favorite color, but there is something so friendly about it. I found this primrose yellow fabric with subtle lemon scroll work of it, it goes so nicely with the tiny little yellow rosebud straps and pockets added yellow and white lace on the top, bottom and pocket. It really reminds me of  the Lemon meringue pie my Grandmother used to make. She passed away in August, so this one kinda makes me a little sad, yellow was her favorite color, and yellow roses her favorite flower, I Know she would of loved this one

DSCN0213last year  I had seen this yellow lace, and thought, what would Iever use that for , and walked away, so when I found this fabric I really kicked myself, and of course I couldn’t find that yellow lace at that point, but after a while I found it ( and I have used is several projects) I would recommend buying odd colors of lace, they are hard to find and really add a lot to certain projects

Metallic Paisley apron with neon green lace

DSCN0208I originally bought this fabric for a quilt, but as soon as I had found the bright green lace,  I knew this apron was meant to be. it doesn’t show real well in photos but there is silver metallic  highlighting the pattern on every piece of fabric used.

DSCN0211Here you can see a little more detail. and like all my apron I have added a comfy elastic waistband , and is fully lined. (I’m amazed at how many $50.00 aprons I have found on line to be just one layer of fabric thick, with that said, I hope to sell this at an upcoming apron party for $29.00)
