Baby Blue and Green Roses necklace

Baby blue and green roses with glass bead wire wrapped in silver toned wire.  I wanted an innocent but updated  classic look. This one was a bit fussy

My little Bachelors Button

001fhfdhb,b,b,bnm,

I am really pleased with this photo I took from my garden. Bachelors Buttons, also known as cornflower is the source of the color cornflower blue.  This beautiful flower retains its color very well when dried and is even edible, tasting similar to a clove

White Poppy in my garden

Image

This single white bloom popped up the other day. It may not be as lovely as my other poppies but I found the little brown specks on antique white petals charming. I am really fond of the center of poppies so intricate and beautiful.

Paris rose sachet

Image

My sister in laws birthday is next week  I made her this sachet that is lace edged and stuffed with  a small amount of batting, dried lemon geraniums that I grew myself,I added some Bulgarian Rose oil that I received as a gift, it smells delightful. I absolutely love this fabric and bought 10 yards of it on a whim, ( really funny when a friend dropped by and witnessed me trying to fold 30 ft of fabric) Hope you guys like the new photos trying to step up my photography. Image

I love this oil smells so good, and I really like the wooden container the vial came in.

Silk Poppy ,Hops and Feather Cascade Wedding Bouquet

I was recently married to the man of my dreams. I made the crazy decision to try to make everything, I mostly succeeded.  I made myself this bouquet after not finding anything vintage enough to go with my 1920-30s look. I never intended on the hops being part of it but  I couldn’t find any foliage I liked better so here it is; dusky purple Poppies, green and white hops, green ranunculus,  cream and green  love lies bleeding and cream feathers.  I covered the holder in a soft moss before adding the flowers so it looks fuller. I really loved how it turned out . My husband ( who is a big H.P Lovecraft fan) told me it looked Cthulhu-ey. while I no longer have my bouquet, I sent it up to be with my ailing aunt who couldn’t make it, it made me so happy, in fact i was informed by my husband that when I stepped out, he heard a gasp followed by “Oh my God look at the bouquet.”

Valentines Orchid Show

Every Valentines day week end my fiance takes me to a local orchid show, while I love all these beautiful exotic blooms, it is the amazing scent of orchids  that  pours out of the entrance  that I remember the most.

2013-02-10-1412392013-02-10-141418 I have been so incredibly busy planning my  diy wedding, It was so nice to put all that aside and enjoy  a quiet moment of tranquility… I just wish I could bottle the scent.

Dahlia Show

I Happend to come across a Dahlia show this weekend, I have 3 small plants myself that have yet to bloom successfully so it was nice to see them all in full bloom. I always liked Dahlias there are so many varieties, forms and colors ( no true black dahlias though) although this one was close

so many beautiful flowers i had trouble deciding which to post so… this is going to be a long posting of mostly flowers

Seeing all of these really encourages me to grow some more varieties. I was suprised i didn’t see any dinner-plate dahlias though
